Overview:
Step into a leadership role as a Senior Ground Systems Engineer with a global space organization dedicated to pioneering innovative solutions in on-orbit servicing. This position offers high autonomy and responsibility, where you will provide technical expertise, mentor team members, and play a pivotal role in the entire ground segment development process—from conceptual design to ongoing maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in the development of ground systems, including Mission Control Systems, Mission Planning Systems, and Ground Stations Interface Systems.
- Derive and define requirements for the ground segment as a whole and for specific components.
- Act as a Product Owner or Technical Officer, liaising with external suppliers and supporting the development team throughout the ground segment development phase.
- Interface between the Mission & Systems team and the Operations team, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient communication.
- Follow Agile (SCRUM) methodology to implement requirements and maintain project schedules.
- Produce and maintain high-quality project documentation, including requirements, verification and validation plans, test procedures, and test reports.
- Participate in operational activities at the control center, ensuring the success of the ground segment.
Required Experience:
- BSc in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a relevant field.
- Extensive commercial experience in satellite ground systems engineering and the space sector.
- Strong knowledge of the key components of a ground segment (e.g., Mission Control Systems, Mission Planning Systems) and their interactions.
- Understanding of space mission design, development processes, and standard milestones.
- Expertise in Requirements Engineering and system integration, verification, and validation.
- Experience with Mission Control Systems, preferably based on SCOS-2000.
